Aligned with Our Credo, Johnson & Johnson has further defined how we work with Health Care Professionals by implementing corporate guidelines to ensure honesty, transparency and integrity in all our interactions with Healthcare Professionals.
Our corporate guidelines, known as Health Care Compliance, are endorsed by The Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (ASBGI) and are adhered to, without exception, by all Johnson & Johnson employees. The scope of Health Care Compliance encompasses a wide range of business practices such as marketing activities, charitable contributions, educational training events and hospitality.
In addition to compliance with individual hospital protocols, all Johnson & Johnson employees who visit hospitals as part of their function adhere to the Johnson & Johnson Standards of Operating Room Practice. This is part of our Policy on Business Conduct and ensures all employees are fully trained on Operating Theatre protocols. Johnson & Johnson representatives are only present in the Operating Theatre for educational support reasons on the explicit invitation and permission of the relevant Healthcare Professional
Our Health Care Compliance and Business Conduct policies ensure the focus of our interactions with Health Care Professionals remains on the genuine benefits our products bring to patients. We work closely with Healthcare Professionals to communicate our policies and we continue to support efforts by medical device industry bodies and professional groups to implement guidelines industry wide in the interests of patient care.
All Johnson and Johnson employees complete Healthcare Compliance training as part of their induction and recertification training throughout their development. We have a dedicated Healthcare Compliance Team, outwith our Sales and Marketing function, who manage the implementation of our Healthcare Compliance policies.
